FRUIT ATTRACTION expects the 10th anniversary edition to be 16% bigger

16 April 2018

Fruit Attraction, the International Trade Show for the Fruit and Vegetable Industry, organised by FEPEX and IFEMA, is expecting even more exhibitors to occupy 16% more exhibition space at its 10th edition, which is scheduled to take place from 23 March to 25 October. These forecasts were made yesterday after the first space allocation meeting. The meeting will continue assigning spaces in the producers’ area until Wednesday, and then resume next week for the auxiliary industry.
Before choosing the spaces, the Organisers’ and Advisory Committee of Fruit Attraction met to discuss the excellent prospects in terms of participation in the next edition. So far, at the end of the first subscription period, the floor space has already grown by 10% compared to the same period last year, totalling more than 45,000 square metres, with an expected increase of 16%.

The number of exhibitors has also grown by 16%. The Organisers’ and Advisory Committee also confirmed an increase in international participation by EU countries like the Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Poland and Greece, with particularly strong growth from France, as well as non-EU countries like Chile, Brazil, Peru, Costa Rica, Colombia, Argentina and South Africa, so much so that the Southern Hemisphere has now been assigned its own area of the exhibition in Hall 10.

In 2018, several areas have been strengthened, such as Organic Hub, devoted to companies that produce organic fruits and vegetables in Hall 6; the Smart Agro area, in Hall 7, which focuses on the use of new technologies and connectivity to increase agricultural productivity, and the Nuts Hub, where the spotlight is on nuts. This time, the traditional Pasarela Innova and Foro Innova will share the same location: The Innovation Hub is an area for innovation and new business ideas in the sector. This year, the flower and plant industry will be joining Fruit Attraction with Flower&Garden Attraction.

The guest importer countries will be Canada and Saudi Arabia. This action will encourage trade relations between these two markets and the European Union and will be accompanied by a full programme of round tables (World Fresh Forum), guided tours and B2B sessions. Alongside this initiative, which began at the last edition, Fruit Attraction will again make a significant investment in the International Guest Programme, which will attract 1,000 retail purchasing managers, importers and wholesalers from around the world.

Organised by IFEMA and FEPEX, the 10th edition of Fruit Attraction will take place in Halls 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 at Feria de Madrid, from Tuesday, 23 to Thursday, 25 October from 9:30 to 19:00.
