Anuga and foodRegio announce cooperation

30 July 2018

In order to push important themes of the food industry more strongly, the leading global trade fair of the food industry, Anuga, will be working more closely together with the industry network of the Northern German food industry, foodRegio, in future. The common impulse and main focus of the contents of the cooperation is personalised diets - a theme that is currently being strongly debated within the international food industry. Because whilst science is bringing the "know" with it via genetics, nutrigenomics and microbiome research, the food industry seems to be still in its infancy regarding the "how". Putting personalised diets into practice is the number one challenge here, because every person reacts differently to food. The ideal is an optimal diet that is perfectly attuned to suit every single person.

foodRegio - distinguished by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy as one of the TOP 5 most innovative regions in Germany - is taking the discussion as an opportunity and is organising the "Personalised Diet Innovation Summit NEWTRITION X." at the media docks in Lübeck on 12 September 2018. Experts from the science, trade and industry sectors will come together here to present and explain solutions.

As the most important trade, sourcing and trend platform for the international food industry, Anuga also places its bets on the future-oriented themes of the industry. The concept of personalised diets plays an important role here. The world's largest trade fair of the food and beverage industry sees itself here as a source of ideas with the aim of setting new impulses, but also to emphasise the growing significance of the topic more strongly and anchor it in the minds of the industry and trade. Alongside communicative measures, the cooperation with foodRegio will also include the organisation of a second innovation summit of the event format, NEWTRITION X., during Anuga 2019, which is scheduled from 5 to 9 October in Cologne.
