Macfrut grows international appeal

This year’s trade show was an international hit with 25% of visitors and 23% of exhibitors (up 30% on 2016) from overseas, representing over 40 countries and five continents. Macfrut 2017 (10-12 May) was a demonstration, and confirmation, that the fair is a hub for the international fresh produce industry.
A snapshot, in numbers, of the three-day show in Rimini: 9,890 international visitors (25% of the total), out of 39,000 visitors, attended the trade fair. Trade professionals from Eastern Europe surged to 35% of International visitors (+4% compared to 2016), while visitors from Africa accounted for 12% (+3%) of overseas attendees. Trade visitors from Europe (23%), Middle East (8%), South America (7%) and other countries (15%) also boosted this year’s growth in international visitors.

On the second day of Macfrut, the international fair for the fresh produce sector taking place until tomorrow at Rimini Expo Center, the spotlight is on innovations in biosolutions and varietal research in the table grape sector. The Agricultural Transformation Program of the Democratic Republic of Congo was also presented. The Democratic Republic of Congo has very high potential and aims to launch partnership opportunities for Italian and European companies wishing to invest in the African state. »
