They cultivate the land in a sustainable way and market it through wholesalers, retailers, warehouses, small supermarket chains and other distributors. Always committed to customer service, innovation, safety and quality.

Commitment to quality

Hortalizas Ortiz has carefully selected new growing areas in the provinces of Alicante, Murcia, Albacete and Granada, in order to guarantee a stable production and quality for each of its products throughout the year.

Baby Lettuce,

As its name suggests, its size is smaller than that of a Romaine lettuce, it is more compact and its taste is milder and sweeter, that is the only thing that differentiates it from a lettuce, as it provides the same properties and benefits, it has a high content of calcium, magnesium and potassium, which helps to combat osteoporosis, as well as offering a high content of vitamin C, which is why it is considered a highly prized lettuce with multiple health benefits.

Organic Lettuce

Hortalizas Ortiz is very proud to have a production line of organic lettuce, caring for and protecting the environment, natural crops where tradition is combined with the use of the latest technical advances, optimising the natural resources they conserve and without using chemical products. Organic lettuces are rich in vitamins and minerals such as calcium and iron. They also have a higher nutritional value as they have a greater amount of nutritional matter.

Romaine lettuce

Romaine lettuce. Its taste tends to be somewhat more bitter than other lettuces, so it is often used in salads such as Caesar salad to give more depth of flavour to the dish. Lettuce is a very refreshing food thanks to its high water content and it provides essential minerals and vitamins such as potassium, magnesium, calcium, vitamin A. Romaine lettuce is a highly nutritious variety of lettuce. Romaine is more than just a great tasting leaf, as it is a source of Protein, Iron, Calcium, with a high mineral and Omega 3 content. Rich in vitamins A, B, C, K and beta-carotene. Its heart contains copper, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, selenium and zinc. Romaine lettuce is low in carbohydrates, sugar and fibre, making it an ideal dietary food. Low levels of oxalic acid, which is important for diets aimed at people with kidney problems.
