Investing in Macfrut to relaunch fruit and vegetable consumption

13 June 2016
Privatising Cesena Fiera to ensure growth opportunities for Macfrut, an increasingly international sector showcase but also a project to promote fruit and vegetable consumption.

A great opportunity for stakeholders in the fruit and vegetable supply chain: to invest in Cesena Fiera and in Macfrut's opportunities for development. This was the announcement made by Renzo Piraccini, President of Cesena Fiera, as part of the press conference held at Rimini Wellness, during which the current situation of Macfrut 2016 was illustrated.

In fact, for the second year in a row, the renowned fitness trade fair held from 2 to 5 June hosted the Fruit&Veg Fantasy Show, the innovative format created to promote a healthy lifestyle based on the consumption of fruit and vegetables, a preview of what will be offered at the 33rd edition of Macfrut, to be held at Rimini Fiera from 14 to 16 September 2016.

"This is a major opportunity for the entire fruit and vegetable sector, which is given the chance to grow together with Cesena Fiera," Piraccini said during the conference. "There is an increasing awareness among businesses in the sector that Macfrut is not only a trade fair event but also a means of support for the fruit and vegetable supply chain in order to favour innovation and internationalisation. This is proved by the exponential growth of the fruit and vegetable trade fair over the last two years and by the recent success of Mac Fruit Attraction in Cairo. In this context, we are now ready to face a new challenge: to make the assets of Cesena Fiera accessible to stakeholders in this leading sector of our economy."

Macfrut 2016 almost sold out
As of today, three months before the trade fair, more than 90% of the spaces available have been sold. The event dedicated to the fruit and vegetable sector, organised by Cesena Fiera, will be hosted in 7 pavilions (one more than in 2015) on a total area of 40,000 square metres.
