Asiafruit Congress also hosts the presentation of the Asia Fruit Awards, which are organised by ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA and Asiafruit Magazine to celebrate excellence in Asia’s fresh produce business. 1st Cool Logistics Asia conference
Logistics is key to successful business in the Asian fresh produce trade. Taking place on 2 September for the first time, Cool Logistics Asia focuses on “designing perishable supply chains of the future”. Asiafruit Business Forum
Information opportunities continue at Asia Fruit Logistica with the Asiafruit Business Forum, a programme of two sessions held each day on the show floor. Hosted by Asiafruit Magazine, the Business Forum offers useful information and practical insights for trade visitors from throughout the value-chain. Access is free for all exhibition visitors, with simultaneous translation in English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

Marketing is the focus for day one (2 September), when David Smith of SVA Fruits and Joseph Ebbage of Almonds Australia explain how repositioning your product can drive sales. Jeff Correa of Pear Bureau Northwest and Victor Sarabia of PromPeru also discuss the merits of country-of-origin branding.

On day two (3 September) – the technology day – Eamonn Flynn and Dan Zhou of Keelings Solutions, and Wayne Hammermeister of N2N Global, explain the role for traceability software systems in managing food safety and the supply chain. Technology’s low-cost solutions will also come under the spotlight, with Frits Popma of Popma Fruit Expertise, Juando Bautista of Maersk Line and Thomas Jestin of KRDS speaking on packaging, logistics and marketing respectively.

Day three (4 September) looks at production issues. New for this year is a Chinese-language session, which looks at how China’s farming sector is modernising with perspectives from Jerome Chen of Joyvio, Jimmy Fan of Innofresh and Alice Wang of Haisheng. Meanwhile, CEO of Plant & Food Research Peter Landon-Lane and Andrew Maughan of Freshmax discuss varietal development in the session ‘Variety showcase: best in class’.
