Excellence Over Taste Buds

The results of 2019 A.A. Taste Awards were revealed on 12th March. Anti Additive Association (A.A.), the organizer of A.A. Taste Awards was originally going to host its awards ceremony at the International Conference Room of Makuhari Messe, Foodex Japan on 12th March. Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the 2019 A.A. Taste Awards ceremony was therefore called off, followed by the cancellation of Foodex Japan. Instead, the winner announcement was released on A.A. Taste Awards official website, honoring businesses that promoted and produced wholesome additive-free food in the world.

The evaluation results of submitted products/cuisines concluded as follows – 11 Great Taste Awards items, 129 one-star items, 319 two-stars items, 89 three-stars items, and 141 items anonymously nominated by jury members were commended with Special Jury Awards. The winners are across Asia Pacific, Europe, North and South America, Africa, and Middle East.
Well-known awarded restaurants include Due Italia (Japan), Rech by Alain Ducasse (Hong Kong), Mountain and Sea House (Taiwan), and so on. Awarded food product producers include Kikkoman (Japan), Diamond Grains (Thailand), and Namchow Group (Taiwan), etc. The winners proved that the additive-less and additive-free food are not only an achievable dream but also profitable and highly in demand.

A.A. Taste Awards is widely known as the world’s premier clean label related awards. Candidates manage to deliver quality, healthy and delicious food. The jury panel includes professionals of food and beverage industry, Michelin chefs, nutritionists, academics and food critics. Evaluation criteria include food and dish first impression, aroma, visual, texture, flavor, after-taste, and additive-free level. The next 2020 A.A. Taste Awards is now open for registration.
