FRUIT ATTRACTION 2015

27 April 2015

The seventh edition of FRUIT ATTRACTION, the International Trade Show for the Fruit and Vegetable Industry, opens its doors from 28 to 30 October to bring supply and demand in the fresh industry sector together so that, in just three days, they have the opportunity to meet personally with horticultural operators worldwide.
After six editions of Fruit Attraction, an instrument at the service of companies and a tool that favours the consolidation and opening of horticultural markets across the world, the next edition aims to attract a greater and more qualified number of attendants. Because of its location and timeliness, Fruit Attraction will become consolidated as the best venue for the entire European production sector, attracting more qualified visitors with greater purchasing power, not just from Europe, but from new markets outside the scope EU in order to serve as a tool to publicise the quality and diversity of our products.
Fruit Attraction leverages the European horticultural sector and continues to gain ground in international export quotas, helping each participant company to consolidate, expand and diversify the export markets for their products. Thus, IFEMA and FEPEX, as organisers of Fruit Attraction, will intensify their promotion of Spanish production areas as well as the branches of activities that make up the production and marketing of fruit and vegetables, so that the Fair projects the diversity of the Spanish sector in full.
Similarly, and in collaboration with EUCOFEL, the European Fruits and Vegetables Trade Association, the Fair will work hand in hand with associations of local traders in different countries of strategic interest in the EU fresh produce sector to promote Fruit Attraction in their respective markets.
In 2014, out of the total of 834 exhibiting companies –a 25% increase over 2013–, those from France, Italy, Poland and Portugal stood out. Similarly, out of 40,528 professional visitors from 88 countries –a 16% increase– those coming from Germany, France, Italy, UK, Netherlands, Poland and Portugal meant 74% of visitors were from outside Spain, confirming Fruit Attraction as a key European production trade event.
With all this, and October being the month when supply and demand in the horticultural sector must meet in order to stock the fruit and vegetables shelves in retail outlets across the globe , Fruit Attraction becomes a business tool where international distribution channels can select suppliers and products.
FRUIT ATTRACTION 2015: 1,000 companies and 50,000 professional visitors
An excellent turnout is expected for this seventh edition, with around 1,000 exhibiting companies and 50,000 professional visitors in halls 7, 8, 9 and 10 of Feria de Madrid. The show will be the meeting point for the entire fruit and vegetable industry and its distribution channels.
This edition includes a new exhibition area called "The Organic Hub", which will house the range of organic horticultural products available, with Spain as the second-largest producer and exporter of fruit and vegetables in Europe. This area will allow organic fruit and vegetable producers to showcase their latest offerings and enter into contact with the entire industry and distribution chain. Moreover, the offer will be topped off with an intense programme of technical workshops on topics such as the 'Marketing and Commercialisation of Organic Fruit and Vegetables in Europe', which will take place at #FruitForum on Wednesday 28 October.
Another new feature of Fruit Attraction will be the area exclusively dedicated to distribution and logistics for the fruit and vegetable sector, which aims to highlight the importance of logistics infrastructure for the international fresh fruit and vegetable marketing chain, as well as its involvement in managing and optimising efficiency and profitability up to the point of sale.
Similarly, the Fair presents #Tech4Fruits, an exhibition area that focuses on the use of technology to improve production levels, quality and market competitiveness.
As on other occasions, the following initiatives will complement the event's business activities: #PasarelaInnova is an area dedicated to the latest products, varieties and brands that exhibitor companies are introducing to the fruit and vegetable market; #B2BFruit New Markets will host a series of business meetings between exhibitors and buyers from new international markets; #Fruit Forum is a stage for activities and conferences on current affairs affecting the sector; #ForoInnova will constitute an area for debate and knowledge-exchange on the latest events in the sector; #FruitFusión is a cooking show, information forum and area for innovation and interpretation of the best fruit and vegetable products for gastronomy.
