Tasty treats from Germany’s regions

Germany’s federal states are serving up their largest ever range of typical regional delicacies, from the coast to the Alps. They have names such as ‘dicke dörthe’, ‘stöffche’, Göttingen stracke and ‘klitscher’ from Saxony: thirteen of Germany’s federal states are represented in eight halls on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds, showing the wide range of regional food, beverages and luxury products on offer.

Over 70 top managers of commercial greenhouses and investment projects from Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Tadzhikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova confirmed their participation in the 4th Annual International Greenhouse Complexes Russia and the CIS Forum 2019 (4-5 December, Moscow). The Forum is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. For the CIS countries there are plenty of opportunities for expansion of existing greenhouse capacities for vegetable growing.

One hectare of ‘Keen on the Country’, Hall 27, the new multi-purpose hall on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds, with 10,000 square metres of display area, is being used for the first time by the Green Week 2020 to stage the event ‘Keen on the Country’
An entire hectare is being devoted to the display entitled ‘Keen on the Country’ at the International Green Week Berlin 2020. Hall 27, the new multi-purpose building with a pillar-free area of some 10,000 square metres, is available for the first time at the Green Week.

FRESH PRODUCE PROMOTED AT FHC CHINA 2019

The fresh produce sector will take centre-ground at the 23rd edition of FHC China in Shanghai. The event will take place from 12th to 14th November 2019 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, covering fifteen halls and more than 180,000m2. Over 3,500 participants from 73 countries and regions will be in attendance where the high quality of imported food and drink products will be showcased. FHC China 2019 has attracted 48 regional and national pavilions. Companies will showcase their quality imported products.

Guelph Equinox Asparagus Officially Launched in Europe

Global Plant Genetics has just announced the official launch of the Guelph Equinox asparagus variety in Europe. This took place during a presentation given by Jamie Petchell of GPG and Ken Wall of Fox Seeds, Canada at the International Asparagus Days event in Angers, France. The launch is the culmination of many years of in-depth trials and the first small-scale test plots across a range of territories. Guelph Equinox was bred at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada and the seed production is handled by Fox Seeds.
