Apple and pear: Safe production thanks to screens

Together, these two fruits represent one of the most produced and consumed fruit categories in the world, alongside bananas, watermelons and citrus fruits. Strong demand and market competition require intensive production and the elimination of all risks that can affect yield and quality. Macfrut, 37th edition presented

Just eight months before the 37th edition, the International Fruit and Vegetable Trade Fair based in Rimini (Italy) will feature many novelties, the first one being its date: organised once again by Cesena Fiera and hosted at the Rimini Expo Centre, for the first time Macfrut will open its doors on a Tuesday (5 May) and will end on Thursday, 7 May 2020. This event, the first of its kind in Europe, is aimed at this very dynamic sector as a global meeting point for producers, technicians, researchers, traders and processors.

Over 30% increase in visitors, close to 200 exhibitors from over 27 countries and a record number of industry partnerships and interactive programming. The 2019 edition drew in close to 4,200 trade visitors from the foodservice, retail and hospitality industries across Southeast Asia, with 196 local and international exhibiting companies from 27 countries and 15 national pavilions taking part over the three-day period.

Compac InVision TotalView cherry sorting technology

Italian cooperative Apofruit invested in a Compac InVision TotalView cherry sorting platform to enhance their ability to deliver consistent quality efficiently. The system was installed in time to save the 2019 cherry season, which got to a terrible start with heavy rains that compromised the quality of the crop. With the InVision TotalView platform, Apofruit was able to recover good fruit even from the poor lots it received in the early weeks.

agrofood Ethiopia 2019 reaches a new level

153 exhibitors (+170%) from 18 countries* - 85% recommend the show 79% of the exhibitors satisfied with the event as a whole 3,205 (+20%) trade visitors from 20 countries - 56% decision makers - 94% recommend the show.
What was the main reason to visit the fair? - to establish and expand business contacts, to get information about new products and innovations, to visit the accompanying conference programme.

Peru reinforces its commercial role in Asia by being partner country at Asia Fruit Logistica

The most important trade show for fresh produce in Asia serves Peru to consolidate its export strategy in Asia. The country’s delegation gathered more than 250 professionals from different Peruvian production companies, associations and public institutions. The opening ceremony was held at the Peruvian stand where the country’s delegation led by PROMPERU’s Export Director, Mario Ocharan, played a hosting role.
