Macfrut to host the second edition of the Tropical Fruit Congress

The second edition of the Tropical Fruit Congress, the international event covering topics involving exotic fruits, will be held at Macfrut from 8 to 10 May 2019. Over the course of three days, market, consumption and trade trends will be examined, as well as the scientific developments, technologies and sales strategies of exotic produce, which is increasingly in demand in global markets. This year, it will be a three-day event. On the first day, Wednesday, 8 May at 3 p.m., market data regarding the tropical fruit sector in its entirety will be presented, with a special focus on lime, papaya and passion fruit.

Interpoma China, held in Shanghai from 15 to 17 April

The third edition of Interpoma China, held in Shanghai from 15 to 17 April, saw Interpoma crowned as a reference point for the apple sector, in particular due to the importance of the international congress "China and the Apple in the World".
Coordinated by apple-growing expert Kurt Werth, the recently ended edition was the venue for 12 presentations to an audience of over 250 delegates by speakers from China, New Zealand, Switzerland and Italy.

The future of table grapes lies in innovation. This will be the theme of the event dedicated to one of the key products of the Italian fresh produce industry, scheduled on Friday, 10 May from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. during Macfrut, to be held in Rimini from 8 to 10 May 2019. The first edition of the Table Grape Meeting will be divided into two sessions. The first session, lasting about an hour, will see five Italian speakers taking turns to give speeches focusing on current trends in varietal innovation and exports.

Macfrut 2019, Italy looks abroad

A month before the 36th edition of Macfrut, the international trade fair for the fruit and vegetable industry scheduled in Rimini from 8 to 10 May, figures are growing: 8 pavilions, over 1,100 exhibitors, 25% of which from abroad, 1,500 buyers invited from all over the world, and about sixty events including summits, business meetings and conventions, proving that this fair is also rich in content.

The Foreign Direct Investment Transparency Index in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi recorded 76.1 points in 2018 on the 100-point index scale, compared to 71.1 points in 2017, which largely reflects a higher level of transparency in direct foreign investment policies and investors awareness of the transparency of the policies adopted by the UAE federal government and the sound policies of the wise government of Abu Dhabi, which represents a major incentive for attracting FDI to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in particular.

Macfrut, horticulture innovation in the spotlight

Greenhouse horticulture will be one of the hot topics of the 36th edition of Macfrut, 8-10 May in Rimini, with the Greenhouse Technology Village and an international conference. By 2050, the world’s population will reach 10 billion and, as a result, the fruit and vegetable demand will amount to 3.5 billion tonnes, which is 900 million tonnes more than today. The population is expected to concentrate more and more in large metropolitan areas, whereas crops will need to have cultivation systems capable of generating higher yields through intensive crop cultivation.

ANUFOOD Brazil: The food industry now has a central platform in Brazil

Full aisles and high numbers of visitors from all over the globe: ANUFOOD Brazil celebrated its successful premiere as the first exclusive trade fair for food and beverages in Brazil. 200 exhibiting brands from 20 countries came together at the international food trade fair at the modern São Paulo EXPO exhibition venue from 12 to 14 March 2019. 7,395 visitors from 39 countries came to examine the diversified offer of the exhibitors, the premiere was supported by the leading Brazilian industry associations.
