Interpoma Technology Award 2018, still a few days left to submit your innovation

The deadline for submitting nominations for the first Interpoma Technology Award has been postponed to September 30, 2018. The Award is organized on occasion of Interpoma (November 15-17, 2018) by Fiera Bolzano in collaboration with the Faculty of Science and Technology at the Free University of Bolzano and SOI (Società di Ortoflorofrutticoltura Italiana). Nominations for the Award are free of charge and are restricted to companies exhibiting at the event whose products include technology and machinery innovations in the Field and Post Harvest categories.

CIV at Asia Fruit Logistica: new successful apple, pear and strawberry varieties

CIV – Consorzio Italiano Vivaisti [Italian Growers Consortium] in San Giuseppe di Comacchio is looking forward to the next trade fair, FRUIT ATTRACTION 2018 (Madrid, 23-25 October) where the Ferrara Consortium will attend for the first time with their own space. In outlining an analysis of the three-day event in Hong Kong, Pier Filippo Tagliani, President of CIV, says he’s very satisfied: “The China fair is the Asian landmark event dedicated to the fruit and vegetable sector, and constitutes a privileged access point to the Asian market, as well as an important forum for exchanging ideas and forging contacts with key international players”.

Spain's fourth-largest industrial sector meets at MEAT ATTRACTION 2018

The meat industry is the fourth-largest industrial sector in Spain, behind only the automotive industry, the oil and fuel industry and the electricity production and distribution industry. The industrial fabric of the sector - which includes abattoirs, cutting plants and processing plants - comprises around 3,000 companies, distributed throughout Spain, particularly in rural areas. Although a significant part of the sector comprises small and medium-sized companies, this has not prevented the gradual development and consolidation of large business groups, some of them leaders at the European level.

Fruit Attraction will analyse the walnut sector in Spain at Walnut Attraction

The tenth edition of Fruit Attraction, which will be held from Tuesday 23 to Thursday 25 October in Madrid, will host the Walnut Attraction event organised by the Spanish Walnut Producers Association , the Association of Fruit and Vegetable Producers and Exporters of Andalusia, Asociafruit, FEPEX and IFEMA, which will analyse the reality of the walnut sector in Spain and in Europe. WALNUT ATTRACTION will be held on the opening day of Fruit Attraction, on Tuesday, 23 October, from 10:15 in the morning to 12:45 at FRUIT FORUM in Hall 10 of the fair, analysing the main characteristics of the production of walnuts.

The tenth edition of FRUIT ATTRACTION will host, for the second year in a row, the World Fresh Forum, which will present the business opportunities and commercial challenges that exist in the countries invited to this edition: Saudi Arabia and Canada. Organised by the Secretary of State for Trade, ICEX Spain Export and Investment, IFEMA and FEPEX, the World Fresh Forum will take place on 24 and 25 October, with the second and third day of the fair in the IFEMA Press Room.

BIOFRUIT CONGRESS will discuss the future of the eco-friendly markets as part of Fruit Attraction2018

The first European Congress on organic fruits and vegetables, BIOFRUIT CONGRESS, organised by Eurofresh Distribution and Fruit Attraction, will be held as part of ORGANIC HUB next 24 October in the FRUIT FORUM located in Hall 6 of Feria de Madrid. The fresh organic produce markets face new challenges and opportunities with the launch of the new European regulations and a renewed 2-digit growth in consumption. Renowned experts and leading distributors will analyse the latest data and trends in organic fruits and vegetables and beyond, with other "value chains".

Finland increases its food exports to Germany – starting at the Green Week 2019

Finland’s number one trading partner across all sectors is Germany, which however is only in fourth among EU countries when it comes to food exports. That is something that is about to change: Europe’s northeasternmost country is the partner country of the International Green Week Berlin (IGW) 2019 and will be launching an export offensive at the world's leading consumer exhibition for agriculture, the food industry and horticulture. The Green Week will take place from 18 to 27 January 2019 in Berlin, and more than 50 Finnish exhibitors will be showcasing their local products in Hall 10.2.

The report of economic activity in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi for the second quarter 2018

The number of new economic licenses registered by Abu Dhabi Business Center of the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi during the second quarter of this year was 2671 with an increase of 21% compared to the same quarter last year, which amounted to 2205 new licenses. According to the report, the total number of the new commercial licenses registered in the emirate reached 2,527 licenses during the second quarter of this year compared to 2,026 licenses during the same quarter last year with an increase of 24.7%.

The ASIA FRUIT AWARDS, the annual pan-Asian awards for Asia’s fresh produce business, are presented by ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA, the leading continental fresh fruit and vegetable trade show in Asia.
