Europe, Mango and Avocado consumption is booming

The Tropical Fruit Congress, the first European Summit on Avocados and Mangoes, is fully booked. Hosted at Macfrut, the international trade fair for the fruit and vegetable sector, the Congress gathered more than 300 producers, exporters and the world’s leading experts on tropical fruits. Yesterday’s first session, coordinated by Roberto Della Casa (Agroter, University of Bologna), focused on marketing and quality.

The 1st edition of International Asparagus Days

There are more than 300,000 hits on Google for “asparagus”. It is a ridiculous amount, although not particularly surprising if we consider that 210,000 hectares of asparagus are grown worldwide. Yet, despite the increasing appeal, for some time now there has not been an international event specifically dedicated to this crop. The first edition of the International Asparagus Days, to be held from 16 to 18 October 2018 at Cesena Fiera, is set to fill this “gap”.

Spotlight on fake news concerning fresh-cut products on the first day of Macfrut

Over the years, many urban legends have circulated on fresh-cut products. Some people believe that these products are of inferior quality, more expensive, and full of preservatives or harmful microorganisms. But is it really so? On the first day of Macfrut (Wednesday, 9 May), currently held at the Rimini Expo Centre, a number of world-renowned scientists gathered at a conference to take stock of the situation.

Record edition of Macfrut launched

The international showcase for the fruit and vegetable sector has officially opened. Today marked the beginning of the 35th edition of Macfrut, the international trade fair for the fruit and vegetable sector held at the Rimini Expo Centre until 11 May. Renzo Piraccini, President of Macfrut, began by saying, ‘Macfrut is growing not only in terms of quantity, with 10% more exhibition space than last year and 100% more over the last four editions, but also - and especially - in terms of quality.’

Interpoma China 2018, the programme of the international Congress

The international congress on the apple sector returns to China and will be held, as last year, during Interpoma China, from 28 to 29 June 2018, at the Weihai International Exhibition & Conference Center in the Shandong Province of China. CHINA FRUIT LOGISTICA ready to launch

200 Meetings held with Japanese Companies

The representatives of the governmental and semi-governmental bodies as well as the private sector companies in Abu Dhabi began their meetings with the Japanese companies today at Otani Hotel in Tokyo. The meetings are held by Abu Dhabi Invsetment Office in which over 60 individuals representing 16 governmental bodies and 15 private sector companies participate.

MEAT ATTRACTION presents its second edition to around 30 countries that are interested in the Spanish meat offering

This morning the Manager of MEAT ATTRACTION, Carlos González García de la Barga, and Alberto Jiménez, President of the Organizing Committee and of the National Association of Meat Industries of Spain, ANICE, per its initials in Spanish –co-organizer of the fair-, presented the second edition of the Meat Sector Fair to a group of representatives from nearly thirty countries. The Fair will be held between the 18th and 20th of September 2018, in Hall 4 at Feria de Madrid.
