Food & Drinks Malaysia by SIAL is poised to be the leading food and beverage exhibition in Malaysia and around the region - providing a focused platform for the industry towards market entry to the gateway of Asia’s food Capital - Malaysia.
This third edition of the SIAL explores opportunities in the food &beverage sectors, Seafood & Fishery, Halal Foods and Food & Beverage Technology with a special feature in Spice & Condiments as well as Alternative Proteins. Spanning 12,000sqm of premium space at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur, Food & Drinks Malaysia by SIAL 2025 will feature participation from leading global and local businesses in the Food & Beverage subsectors. The exhibition will have 8 sectoral focuses, dedicated state & international pavilions and thematic exhibits that provide a glimpse of the future of food.

Malaysia Market Scenario:
- Malaysian cuisine is heavily influenced by other cuisines from Southeast Asian countries, such as Indonesian, Indian, Thai, and Chinese. These influences resulted in the exotic flavors, with a unique combination of sweet, sour, and spicy tastes.
- Malaysia Food market is estimated at US$58.19bn in 2024. The market's largest segment is the segment Meat with a market volume of US$15.19bn in 2024.
- Malaysia is highly dependent on imports for food security (70%), even as it is a net agricultural exporter (highly concentrated in palm oil and rubber).
- Malay consumers tend to increase their consumption of rice more than higher-value (meat and fish) and functional (vegetables and fruits) foods. Malay consumers are found to be very sensitive to the own-price of most of the food products, especially rice.
- Malaysia’s total food imports touched USD 21.5 Bn in 2023, including oils & fats, cereals like corn maize rice, chocolate and confectionery, meat and fish items, etc. the major suppliers to the country include Indonesia, China, Thailand, India and Argentina.
