Greentech 2025: Arrigoni wprowadza na rynek nową folię Lirsa V-Agro Air Cool

3 czerwiec 2025

From 10 to 12 June, the Arrigoni Group will take to the stage at the leading global horticultural trade fair to showcase its latest innovations. At the heart of its product line-up is V-Agro Air Cool, a new multi-layer plastic film developed by Lirsa that reduces solar radiation by 30.8%, lowers internal temperatures by up to 7°C and delivers average water savings of 16%

The Arrigoni Group, a leader in the design and production of agrotextiles, has confirmed it will be exhibiting at Greentech Amsterdam, the world’s premier trade show for horticultural innovation.

At the Dutch industry expo, the company will unveil V-Agro Air Cool, a cutting-edge agricultural plastic film developed by Lirsa SpA – part of the group and boasting over 50 years of expertise in technical crop cover films. This advanced solution has been specifically designed to tackle the challenges posed by climate change in protected cropping systems.

The rise in global temperatures is driving the adoption of technologically updated tools, which support growers in adapting to changeable climate conditions, enhance crop resilience and ensure more sustainable production.

Thanks to intensive R&D, which started in 2021, Arrigoni has created V-Agro Air Cool, a true breakthrough in thermal management for greenhouses.

By leveraging functional nanotechnology, this innovative cover film significantly reduces incoming thermal energy (NIR radiation from 780 to 2500 nm), without affecting the transmission of light needed for photosynthesis – ensuring optimal crop growth and reduced night-time heat stress.

V-Agro Air Cool was conceived as a sustainable alternative to traditional shading solutions, such as reflective paints or mineral pigments, which reduce temperature but also diminish photosynthetically active radiation (PAR). Tests – including those using lux meters – showed a reduction in solar radiation by 30.8%, nearly four times greater than that achieved by a standard 200-micron natural LDPE film.

“Materials such as this new film are key to building a more resilient, efficient and environmentally friendly farming model,” stated Paolo Arrigoni, President of the Group. “With V-Agro Air Cool, we are bringing to the market a compelling, eco-sustainable technological alternative to conventional solutions like paints, pigments or mineral fillers – while maintaining high light quality and improving climate conditions for plants.”

Field trials carried out in Mediterranean greenhouses confirmed the film’s thermal effectiveness: summer temperatures lowered by up to 5-7°C, average water savings of over 16% and an increase in night-time temperatures of up to 10°C in winter – all contributing to improved yields and crop quality. The product is tailored to meet the needs of high-tech, intensive agriculture, particularly in advanced markets such as the Netherlands, where greenhouses play a strategic role in food production.

Alongside the new film, the Arrigoni Group will also be putting on show its Biorete Air Plus range of insect-proof screens. This line features ultra-strong yet finer and higher tenacity yarns, offering excellent ventilation even in warmer climates and providing natural protection against even the tiniest pests, including thrips (Thripidae)Biorete Air Plus is designed to help reduce or even eliminate pesticide use, improving the greenhouse microclimate and ensuring healthier and more abundant crops.

“In environments where natural ventilation is essential for climate control and reducing chemical treatments, Biorete Air Plus proves to be a winning technical choice,” concludes Paolo Arrigoni“The Dutch market – long focused on greenhouse efficiency and passive crop protection – has responded very positively to this screen, which combines performance, durability and sustainability.”

The Arrigoni team will be at Stand 01.245 to welcome customers, partners and industry professionals, and to showcase the V-Agro Air Cool film, Biorete Air Plus insect screens and the latest solutions in sustainable agriculture.
