Cora Seeds, the Italian seed company and a global leader in breeding, is playing host to a range of stakeholders and industry media at its annual event showcasing its flagship varieties and offering insights into their qualities - of interest to both growers and consumers. The three-day event will also be a platform for discussion, feature in-depth scientific analysis of the most promising experimental lines and offer a preview of the latest varietal innovations.
The Open Days are a much-valued opportunity for Cora Seeds to meet with partners, share results and strengthen relationships. The 2025 edition will focus on innovation, a core value of the company’s philosophy. Specifically, new commercial and experimental varieties will be presented that have been developed to meet climate challenges and satisfy the needs of both domestic and international markets.
The spotlight will be on Cora Seeds' leading products: watermelons, onions and indeterminate tomatoes, with time also dedicated to other key varieties including determinate tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplants, melons, zucchini and carrots. These fruits and vegetables have boosted the Cesena-based company’s international positioning, as demonstrated by significant growth in a number of markets.
The Programme
The event starts on Monday, 28 July, with a welcome day, centred around the "Cora Seeds Garden" at the company’s headquarters. On Tuesday, 29 July, attendees will head to the fields with the company’s technical team: the morning will focus on indeterminate tomatoes and onions; the afternoon will be devoted to determinate tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and eggplants; the evening will see the day wind down with the Cora Party. On Wednesday, 30 July, conference sessions will be dedicated to watermelons, melons, zucchini and carrots – the latter having become one of the cornerstones of the company’s global growth. The event will conclude at 2:30pm with a roundtable discussion featuring Cora Seeds' senior management and specially-invited commercial partners.
“The Open Days are a valuable opportunity to strengthen trust within the sector and promote innovative agricultural solutions through discussion and engagement,” says Maurizio Bacchi, CEO of Cora Seeds.
“We are one of the most dynamic Italian seed companies, with a strong commitment to research and development aimed at offering competitive genetics tailored to diverse markets.
“Our goal is to combine innovation with practicality, offering varieties that can adapt - with dependability and reliability - to different growing environments and challenges posed by climate change.
“That’s why our annual in-house event is such an important occasion for sustaining our competitiveness and putting forward fresh perspectives to the entire supply chain.”
