IFEMA takes the helm at the end of the 9th Global Ham Congress

MEAT ATTRACTION played an active part in the Congress held in the capital of Castilla-La Mancha, presenting the first edition of the trade fair.

IFEMA-MEAT ATTRACTION has been chosen as the venue for the 10th Global Ham Congress, an event that brings together the entire national and international ham industry. It will take place in 2019 at Feria de Madrid. 

This is excellent news for the first trade fair to focus entirely on the meat industry to be held in Spain. The announcement was made at the end of the last Congress in Toledo, when Carlos González, sales manager at IFEMA and head of MEAT ATTRACTION, took the symbolic ‘baton’ from the President of the Organisers’ Committee of the 9th Global Ham Congress, Julio Tapiador.
The objectives of the Global Ham Congress, which takes place every two years at different venues in Spain, France and Portugal, is to update attendees on scientific knowledge and technique for preparing cured ham; to present new trends and information about nutrition and gastronomy; and to study success stories and excellent marketing and sales tools that will help the sector to do business more efficiently.
This is the Congress’ strategy for boosting the prestige of cured ham in every continent in the world, and drawing attention to the importance of a sector that it a global benchmark.

The trade fair organised by IFEMA-Feria de Madrid and National Meat Processing Industries Association of Spain (ANICE) were very active at the 9th Global Ham Congress. In fact, they sponsored the inaugural session of the Congress, where the President of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, explained the characteristics of the trade fair to the 300 attendees as an opportunity to do business and to access foreign markets and customers for sector companies. They were also there with a stand to inform the many entrepreneurs attending the Congress, who showed great interest in the options and possibilities for taking part as exhibitors at the first edition of the trade fair.

The fair, which will take place in Hall 3 of the IFEMA site, will feature the full gamut of meat sector products and solutions, aiming to provide business opportunities and access to new foreign markets and customers. It will be a platform and meeting point to benefit the shared interests of all agents involved in the production process, such as slaughterhouses, cutting plants and meat processing industries, specialised storage and transportation companies, and those involved in marketing and distribution to both domestic and foreign markets in the retail and the horeca sectors.

The international buyer's programme and hosted buyer’s initiative will target guests selected by the exhibitors themselves, in which IFEMA will invest 300,000 euros. These are just two of the valuable features that MEAT ATTRACTION is offering to participating companies seeking to expand their business portfolios and access new markets

MEAT ATTRACTION is doing a round of presentations all over the country to spread the word about this new trade fair, and, after a dozen events in different parts of Spain, next week it will be stopping off in Salamanca and Guijuelo, to continue with dates in Seville, Segovia, Lleida, Girona, Galicia, etc.
