An exhibition hall with moving people.

Taking place at the main stage in Hall 5, Asiafruit Congress focuses on high-level strategy and market trends through a mix of keynote presentations and lively panel discussions.

Asiafruit Business Forum runs alongside Asiafruit Congress with a series of practical workshops and expert talks on marketing, technology, logistics and more.

Asiafruit Showcase, located in Hall 3, spotlights a range of innovative products and solutions from exhibitors.

Day One highlights: 30 years of change, apple marketing and AI in fresh produce

To mark the 30th anniversary of Asiafruit Magazine, Asiafruit Congress opens with a look back at how Asia’s fresh produce trade has evolved over the past three decades, and a discussion on where it is heading next.

Wayne Prowse of Fresh Intelligence provides a statistical snapshot of the evolution of the trade. An expert panel featuring Felipe Casanova (Copefrut), and retail executive Steve Quinn (Pivit Global) explores the key market changes and future trends and disruptors.

Leading seed company Rijk Zwaan hosts a special session ‘Veggie Tech’, looking at how climate change is reshaping vegetable production in Asia with a shift to more tech-driven cultivation. Chaired by Jan Doldersum, Rijk Zwaan’s manager of chain and retail, the panel discussion features insights from key players including Suhadi Zaini of Sweet Greens Indonesia and Tracey Lam of Aqua Green.

Apple marketing is also in focus on Day One of Asiafruit Congress. Home to some of the world’s largest apple import markets, Asia presents exciting potential for premium brands and varieties. Pink Lady’s Jason Morris, Brendon Osborn of Heartland Fruit and Rochelle Bohm of CMI Orchards share strategies on the keys to successful marketing.

At Asiafruit Business Forum, NielsenIQ’s Edwin Sun presents a market spotlight on Hong Kong, analysing key consumer and retail trends in fresh produce.

AI is powering new solutions for the fresh produce business. Tomra Food’s Paul Slupecki and Roland Wirth of Frigotec/Softripe present case studies of its game-changing impact in fresh produce sorting and ripening respectively.

Kennard Wong, CEO of Unifrutti Japan, and Goodfarmer’s banana product director, Eric Zheng, also share insights on the trends shaping Asia’s fast-moving banana trade.

Day Two highlights: berry boom, China distribution, and digital marketing in SE Asia

Day Two of Asiafruit Congress kicks off with a deep dive into Asia’s booming berry business. A panel of industry leaders – including Dani Geng (Joy Wing Mau Group), Peter McPherson (Costa Group), and John Early (Fruitist) – looks at how that boom is extending beyond China with the development of consumer markets and new supply origins across the region.

Justin Chan (VX Cold Chain) and Rahul Bagde (Zespri International) then examine how new infrastructure investments are transforming fresh produce distribution in China.

Asiafruit Business Forum opens with a session on South-East Asia’s fast-evolving digital marketing landscape. Ashwin Pillay of RedFern Digital offers practical insights on consumer preferences and digital platforms, explaining how marketers can build their brands.

Elsewhere, StePac’s Ivo Tunchel outlines how post-harvest technologies can extend the reach of products and help to open-up new markets.

Later in the day, in an education session curated by the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA), Steve Alaerts of Foodcareplus Logistics discusses ‘The Supply Chain of the Future’, IFPA’s project to future-proof fresh fruit and vegetable supply chains around the world.

An exhibition hall full with many people sitting in chairs and watching people who speak on the stage.

Day Three highlights: investment, Indonesia and tropical fruit trends

Day Three of Asiafruit Congress opens with a focus on fast-tracking investment for the fresh produce industry’s future. CEO of Australian grower-owned research and development corporation Hort Innovation Brett Fifield discusses the launch of its first-of-a-kind, hort-specific VC fund which supports start-ups with innovative and scalable solutions for growers.

A deep dive on the high-potential Indonesian market follows, led by Yuyuh Sukmana (Vanguard International) and Hendry Sim (Laris Manis Utama).

A closing session on tropical fruits features insights from Carlo Magni (Forward Insight & Strategy), Kate James (Venture Fruit), and Siebe van Wijk (The Fruit Republic) on how Asia can lead in this growing global category.

At Asiafruit Business Forum, Andrew Macnish of Queensland Department of Primary Industries leads a session on innovative new shelf-life prediction technology with Marie Piccone of mango grower-exporter Manbulloo and Luke Wood of supply chain technology specialist Escavox.
