Agrofood East Africa Exhibition 2026 to take place in Addis Ababa
From August 14–16, 2026, the Agrofood East Africa Exhibition 2026 will be held at the Addis International Convention Centre in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This international exhibition dedicated to the agriculture, food processing, beverage, and packaging technology sectors will bring together manufacturers, technology providers, distributors, and industry experts from around the world, offering a platform for developing trade cooperation and investment in one of Africa’s fastest-growing regions.
A rapidly growing market with strong potential
Ethiopia is one of the largest food markets on the African continent. In 2025, the country’s food imports reached a value of USD 2.36 billion, primarily including wheat, pulses, and edible oils supplied from countries such as India, the USA, Turkey, the UAE, and Egypt. At the same time, Ethiopia is investing heavily in the development of its domestic food processing sector by establishing dedicated agro-industrial zones and offering investment incentives.
Agriculture plays a key role in Ethiopia’s economy, accounting for approximately 35% of GDP and employing more than 65% of the population. The country is a major producer of coffee, cereals, oilseeds, fruits, vegetables, and livestock products. However, only a small portion of agricultural production is currently processed locally, creating significant opportunities for companies offering food processing technologies and industry solutions.
An international business platform
Organizers expect more than 100 exhibitors and over 5,000 professional visitors from at least eight countries, making Agrofood East Africa one of the key industry events in the region. The exhibition provides an excellent opportunity to establish business relationships, showcase new products and technologies, and enter the rapidly growing East African market.
Participation in the event enables companies to connect directly with importers, distributors, manufacturers, and FMCG sector representatives, supporting sales growth and the development of long-term business partnerships.
Wide range of industry sectors
The exhibition covers the entire agro-food value chain, including:
• grains, rice, spices, additives, and food ingredients,
• beverages, juices, mineral water, coffee, tea, and dairy products,
• fresh fruits and vegetables, processed foods, frozen and convenience products,
• bakery products, confectionery, snacks, and premium food products,
• organic, dietary, and functional foods,
• food processing technologies and production lines,
• packaging machinery, filling, labeling, and printing systems,
• packaging materials, packaging lines, cartons, transport systems, and automation solutions.
A key event for companies planning expansion in Africa
Agrofood East Africa Exhibition 2026 represents a strategic platform for companies seeking to expand their operations in East Africa, strengthen brand visibility, and leverage the potential of one of the world’s most promising agro-food markets. With growing demand for advanced technologies, processing solutions, and food products, the exhibition offers real opportunities for expansion and building lasting business relationships.
