Agrofood East Africa Exhibition 2026 to take place in Addis Ababa
From August 14–16, 2026, the Agrofood East Africa Exhibition 2026 will be held at the Addis International Convention Centre in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This international exhibition dedicated to the agriculture, food processing, beverage, and packaging technology sectors will bring together manufacturers, technology providers, distributors, and industry experts from around the world, offering a platform for developing trade cooperation and investment in one of Africa’s fastest-growing regions.
A rapidly growing market with strong potential
Ethiopia is one of the largest food markets on the African continent. In 2025, the country’s food imports reached a value of USD 2.36 billion, primarily including wheat, pulses, and edible oils supplied from countries such as India, the USA, Turkey, the UAE, and Egypt. At the same time, Ethiopia is investing heavily in the development of its domestic food processing sector by establishing dedicated agro-industrial zones and offering investment incentives.
Agriculture plays a key role in Ethiopia’s economy, accounting for approximately 35% of GDP and employing more than 65% of the population. The country is a major producer of coffee, cereals, oilseeds, fruits, vegetables, and livestock products. However, only a small portion of agricultural production is currently processed locally, creating significant opportunities for companies offering food processing technologies and industry solutions.
