India-Australia Food Beverage Buyer Seller Meet 2026: new opportunities for the Indian food sector in Australia

11 May 2026

From 11 to 15 June 2026Melbourne and Sydney will host the India-Australia Food Beverage Buyer Seller Meet 2026, an event designed to strengthen trade cooperation between Indian exporters and the Australian food market. The initiative has been prepared for 25–30 Indian companies, which will have the opportunity to meet directly with importers, distributors, wholesalers, medium- and large-scale buyers, as well as representatives of chambers of commerce in Australia.

The aim of the event is to create tangible opportunities for Indian producers and exporters to expand their presence in the Australian market and establish new business relationships across the Oceania region. According to the organisers, the B2B meeting format in two of Australia’s key cities is intended to help companies enter the market more effectively and build long-term commercial partnerships.

Trade data shows that the growth potential is significant. India’s food and beverage exports to the Oceania region reached USD 528.2 million in 2024, accounting for 2.4% of the region’s total imports, which stood at USD 21.8 billion. Australia remains the largest market in the region, with Indian exports of food and beverage products reaching USD 412.3 million in 2025, representing 2.7% of Australia’s total F&B imports, estimated at USD 15.2 billion.

Although India’s share of food and beverage imports into Oceania is still relatively small, the pace of growth points to strong expansion potential. Over the past five years, India’s food and beverage exports to Australia have grown at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.4%. This growth has been driven primarily by categories such as grains and cereal preparations, coffee, tea, spices, miscellaneous edible preparations, fruits and vegetables, organic and health food, non-alcoholic beverages, and wine & spirits.

The range of products presented during the event will be broad and will include food and beverages, food processing and packaging, organic food products, traditional cuisine, fresh fruits and vegetables, ethnic sweets and snacks, ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook products, food and cereals, rice, tea, coffee, bakery and confectionery products, spices, vegan food, and wine & spirits.

Among the key highlights of the event, the organisers point to the participation of 20–25 selected exhibitors, the presence of 50–60 buyers in Melbourne and Sydney, the organisation of B2B meetings in both cities, and visa assistance for participants.

The India-Australia Food Beverage Buyer Seller Meet 2026 is expected to provide an opportunity to collaborate with both well-established and emerging Australian importers, retailers, distributors, wholesalers and commercial partners. The organisers also emphasise that Australia remains one of the most promising markets for innovative food and beverage products, particularly in light of growing demand for processed food and solutions that respond to changing consumer needs.

The event is therefore intended not only to help participants secure new business partners, but also to strengthen existing relationships and gain a better understanding of Australia’s industry leaders. For Indian companies looking to expand exports to Australia and the broader Oceania region, the June meetings in Melbourne and Sydney may prove to be an important step in further international growth.
