Belt and Road Summit 2026: a platform for investment, projects and international deal-making

From 9 to 15 September 2026, the Project Investment and Deal-Making Session will take place during the Belt and Road Summit at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The programme will serve as an extensive platform for business meetings, project presentations, and the development of international partnerships. Part of the activities will also be conducted through an online deal-making format, further expanding networking opportunities for participants from around the world.

The programme has been designed to connect global resources, capital, and investment opportunities. The Summit will create a space for direct interaction between project owners, investors, financial institutions, operators, public authorities, and professional service providers. Its aim is to support the creation of new business relationships and facilitate cooperation on projects of international significance.

One of the key elements of the programme will be the deal-making sessions, organised in the form of one-to-one meetings. Participants will be able to meet potential business partners based on shared areas of interest and precisely matched business needs. In addition, an online platform will be available to help participants manage their meeting schedules and submit additional meeting requests.

Another important part of the event will be the Project Investment Sessions, during which project owners from around the world will present their ventures through a series of thematic and market-focused investment sessions. These presentations will provide investors and professional service providers with a broader understanding of investment opportunities and project potential across different regions and sectors.

The thematic scope of the sessions will include:

The event will also continue to feature signature project sessions, offering more in-depth introductions to selected projects. These sessions will provide detailed insight into each project’s scope, development status, strategic value, and future potential. Their purpose is to deepen participants’ understanding of project fundamentals and investment prospects.

Among the participants will be project owners and their representatives, concessionaires and operators, industrial park and free trade zone administrations, investment promotion agencies, government bodies, and project intermediaries. Another important group will include investors and financiers, such as asset management firms, infrastructure funds, institutional investors, multilateral banks, private equity funds, sovereign wealth funds, strategic investors, green financiers, and Islamic financiers. The event will also welcome Hong Kong service providers, including companies from infrastructure services, public utilities, financial and professional services, accounting and tax advisory, logistics, and IT.

The scale and significance of the deal-making format are reflected in the results of the 2025 edition, during which the business matching sessions featured more than 300 investment projects from over 50 countries and regions, arranged over 800 one-to-one business matching meetings, and included more than 25 in-depth project presentations.

In previous editions, the one-to-one deal-making sessions attracted representatives of major institutions and investment groups, including Agricultural Bank of China, Blackstone Group, China Development Bank, CITIC Capital, Silk Road Fund, CLP Holdings, Power China International Group, China Railway Construction Corporation, China Resources, Bangkok Bank, and many others.

The Project Investment and Deal-Making Session at the Belt and Road Summit 2026 is set to become one of the most important meeting points for those seeking partners, capital, infrastructure projects, and new opportunities for international cooperation.
