European Fruits continues its promotional activities in Poland
Following a successful launch of its promotional activities in Poland during the first year of the programme, the European campaign European Fruits returned to Warsaw, continuing its initiatives aimed at raising public awareness of the quality, safety, and nutritional value of fresh European fruit.
On Thursday, 25 June 2026, journalists, media representatives, opinion leaders, and representatives of the agri-food sector gathered at Mykonos Greek Restaurant & Bar for the campaign’s second press conference in Poland. The event was organised as part of the European programme European Fruits, co-funded by the European Union and implemented in Greece, Poland, and the Czech Republic, with ASEPOP Naoussa as the beneficiary.

The meeting was opened by Maria Nalbanti, representative of the implementing organisation Novacert sp. z o.o., who welcomed the invited guests and highlighted the importance of European programmes promoting agricultural products and building consumer trust in food originating from European Union countries.
Next, Athanasios Bougas, representative of ASEPOP Naoussa, presented the activities and long-standing history of the cooperative, drawing attention to its significant contribution to the production and export of high-quality European fruit. In his presentation, he also outlined the role of the European Fruits campaign in promoting European peaches, nectarines, cherries, apricots, and kiwifruit.

An important part of the conference was also the speech delivered by Anna Podgórska, a clinical dietitian, who discussed the current recommendations regarding fruit consumption. She referred to national dietary guidelines as well as scientific data confirming the importance of eating fruit daily as part of a balanced and healthy diet.

Another speaker was Lefteris Maroulis, Business Development Advisor and President of the Association of Greek Entrepreneurs in Poland, who introduced participants to the European system of quality assurance and food safety for fresh fruit. His presentation underlined the importance of standards applied within the European Union and their role in building product credibility on the market.

The event was also honoured by the presence of Giorgos Michailidis, Economic and Commercial Counsellor (First Counsellor) of the Embassy of Greece in Poland, who delivered a short welcome speech to the guests.
The conference concluded with a shared dinner, during which participants had the opportunity to engage in conversation, establish new contacts, and exchange views in a particularly friendly atmosphere. The meeting was not only an opportunity to promote the European Fruits campaign, but also to further strengthen relationships between industry representatives, the media, and experts.
