5 August 2026

The official preview of Gastech 2026, one of the world’s leading events for natural gas, LNG, low-carbon technologies, electrification and artificial intelligence in energy, is now available. This year’s edition will take place from 14 to 17 September 2026 in Bangkok.

Published by Energy Connects, Gastech’s official media partner, the preview presents the key themes of this year’s event, the conference programme, profiles of leading speakers and the technologies that will be showcased during the exhibition.

Gastech 2026 comes at a time when the global energy sector is facing rising demand, market volatility and the need to ensure secure, reliable and lower-carbon energy systems. The event will bring together industry representatives from more than 150 countries.

Global energy leaders

Companies featured in the programme include Chevron, ExxonMobil, Shell, EGAT, PTT, ADNOC Gas, Baker Hughes and Petronet LNG. Their representatives will share perspectives on energy security, LNG development, infrastructure investment and the transition towards lower-emission energy systems.

The preview also includes an interview with H.E. Akanat Promphan, Thailand’s Minister of Energy, who discusses the country’s role as one of Asia’s key energy hubs and the importance of Gastech as a platform for international cooperation.

One of the central topics will be natural gas supply security. Dr Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, examines the impact of tensions in the Middle East on global gas markets, the need for supply diversification and the upcoming wave of LNG supply growth.

LNG at the centre of the debate

A significant part of the programme will focus on the growing role of LNG in Asian markets. Fatema Al Nuaimi, CEO of ADNOC Gas, highlights the shift from short-term transactions towards long-term partnerships and the importance of strategic investment in meeting Asia’s growing energy demand.

Meanwhile, Dr Kongkrapan Intarajang, CEO and President of PTT, will address the role of LNG in balancing energy security, affordability and sustainability across ASEAN countries.

Freeman Shaheen, President of Chevron Global Gas, will focus on long-term investment, strategic partnerships and the development of scalable infrastructure, while Tom Summers, Executive Vice President of Shell LNG Marketing & Trading, will discuss the resilience of the LNG sector during crises and market disruptions.

Low-carbon technologies and AI for energy
