25–27 May 2028 | Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, India
Messe Berlin and NürnbergMesse have announced a strategic partnership that will bring two international trade events together in India. From 25 to 27 May 2028, BIOFACH INDIA and the new FRUIT LOGISTICA Connect India format will be held simultaneously at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.
The co-location is intended to create a stronger business platform for India’s fresh produce and organic food industries. At the same time, both events will retain their own identity, exhibitor and visitor profiles, and distinct market positioning.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Mumbai on 1 September 2026 by Satyendra Mehra, Group Director and Member of the Management Board at NürnbergMesse India, and Katrina Leung, Managing Director & Vice President Asia Pacific at Messe Berlin.
FRUIT LOGISTICA Connect India will be a new event developed under the globally recognised FRUIT LOGISTICA brand. Its objective is to create a dedicated B2B platform for India’s fresh fruit and vegetable industry.
The exhibition is expected to connect growers, exporters, importers, wholesalers, retailers, logistics providers, technology companies and solution providers from across the fresh produce value chain.
For Indian companies, the event is intended to provide opportunities to develop international contacts and identify new export markets. International participants, meanwhile, will gain access to one of Asia’s largest and most dynamic consumer markets.
BIOFACH INDIA, part of the global BIOFACH exhibition network, has established itself as one of India’s leading trade fairs for the organic industry.
The next stage of the brand’s development in Mumbai is expected to strengthen its presence in one of the country’s key commercial and food trading hubs. The city plays an important role in domestic and international trade and is a major centre for importers, distributors and retail operators.
The co-location of BIOFACH INDIA and FRUIT LOGISTICA Connect India is designed to give organic food producers and fresh produce companies access to a broader group of professional buyers.
The partnership between Messe Berlin and NürnbergMesse reflects the growing links between the fresh fruit and vegetable sector and the organic food market.
Key areas of overlap include:
By holding both exhibitions at the same venue and during the same period, exhibitors will be able to reach complementary groups of buyers, while trade visitors will have the opportunity to explore two closely related sectors during a single business trip.
The partnership combines the international expertise and business networks of two of Germany’s leading exhibition organisers.
“Our partnership with Messe Berlin reflects a shared vision of bringing together two globally recognised exhibition brands in a way that creates new business opportunities for our customers. We are confident that the co-location of BIOFACH INDIA and FRUIT LOGISTICA Connect India will further support the growth of India’s organic food and fresh produce sectors,” said Sonia Prashar, Chairperson of the Board and Managing Director of NürnbergMesse India.
Katrina Leung, Managing Director & Vice President Asia Pacific at Messe Berlin, highlighted the potential to combine the international reach of both events while preserving their individual identities.
“The co-location of FRUIT LOGISTICA Connect India and BIOFACH INDIA will create new opportunities for exhibitors, buyers and industry stakeholders while preserving the unique identity of each event. We look forward to strengthening international business connections and supporting the long-term development of both industries together with NürnbergMesse,” she said.
The launch of FRUIT LOGISTICA Connect India represents another step in the international development of the FRUIT LOGISTICA brand and reflects the growing importance of India in the global fresh produce trade.
The market combines large-scale domestic production with increasing demand for technology, modern logistics, cold-chain solutions, sorting, packaging and more efficient supply chains. At the same time, exports are becoming increasingly important, alongside growing interest in higher-value products and organic food.
Bringing the two exhibitions together may therefore create opportunities both for companies selling products and for businesses providing technologies and services for production, storage, transport and trade.
BIOFACH INDIA and FRUIT LOGISTICA Connect India will take place simultaneously from 25 to 27 May 2028 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.
The partnership between Messe Berlin and NürnbergMesse is intended to create a new meeting point for two complementary industries and support the further internationalisation of India’s fresh produce and organic food sectors.
