The Spanish Federation of Wooden Light Weight Packaging and their Components, FEDEMCO, has announced the addition of Raquel Aguado Muñoz to its team. Signing her fulfils one of the most immediate goals in the FEDEMCO strategy: a definitive push towards internationalization. Growing, growing and growing both nationally and internationally, expanding its network of contacts and markets, increasing the number of member companies as well as the services that add value so as to magnify public and private stakeholders.

Raquel Aguado is an expert in international marketing and strategy, market development and European Union relations. Her background is a valuable asset for the federation which hopes to continue growing with her assistance in order to reach all companies in the wood packaging sector as well as foster a powerful European cluster in order to get the sector on the Brussels agenda.

With a bachelor’s degree in law, a master’s degree in international Trade and training in international business, Raquel Aguado has been linked to international commerce and marketing for more than 25years. FEDEMCO will officially welcome Raquel Aguado at the extraordinary general meeting on 28th September in Valencia.

The new director’s arrival has become effective with less than a month to go before Fruit Attraction 2023.The most important event of the year for fresh produce is the date chosen to present the most recent FEDEMCO milestone to sector professionals: the creation of ECOWOOXÒ. This in-house certification programme developed by FEDEMCO is a guarantee for recyclability and arose out of the need to facilitate the adaptation to the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive (PPWD) for producers and packaging companies. The seal received proves the full recyclability, eco-design and energy recovery of the corresponding packaging.

The FEDEMCO stand at Fruit Attraction will be located at P3B24, a space available to member companies emphasizing sustainability in line with its latest campaign: the most sustainable packaging. As always, this exhibit space will be the meeting place for the annual meeting of Grow International which is the European body encompassing all European national wood packaging federations. It is presided over by Mr Enrique Soler Segrelles, the president of FEDEMCO.

The most sustainable packaging
Wood is a 100% biodegradable and recyclable raw material. Since it is material that already exists in nature, the transformation process to packaging consumes very few resources: its carbon footprint is negative and water footprint is minimal. Thus, wooden packaging is the most sustainable on the market.
