For the first time this year, ASIAFRUIT CONGRESS sessions are free to attendfor all ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA visitors and exhibitors, with sessions taking place across all three days of the trade show (2-4 November). Top executives share expert insights on the big issues in Asia’s fresh produce business through a mix of lively panel discussions and on-stage interviews.
As global fresh produce suppliers seek to diversify their presence in Asia, Day One of ASIAFRUIT CONGRESS (2 November) opens with a look at some of the most exciting market opportunities. T&G Global’sAsia regional general manager James Gordonshares his insights on the potential across South-East Asia and beyond.
Day Two (3 November) focuses on ‘Tracking the trade in Asia’. AJ Griesel, chief executive of the South African Table Grape Industry (SATI), joins a panel of leading global suppliers to discuss the evolution of the Asia market in the wake of the Covid pandemic.
‘The future of supply’ is the theme for Day Three (4 November) of ASIAFRUIT CONGRESS, whichkicks off with a session on how and why the fresh produce business is attracting new investment. California-based company Frutura has made a number of high-profile acquisitions across the Americas over the past 18 months. Frutura’s CEO David Krause explains what makes the fresh produce industry an attractive investment, and what investors are looking for when acquiring a company.
Turning the focus to ‘farming in Asia for Asia’, Siebe van Wijk, managing partner of Fresh Studio, presents a case study outlining the investment opportunities in Vietnam’s fast-developing fruit sector.

Also on Day One, leading vegetable seed breeder Rijk Zwaanhighlights how it is working with a range of partners to advance the development of high-tech growing systems, including vertical farms, in Asia. Friso Klok, Rijk Zwaan’sSouth East Asia sales and chain manager,is joined on stage by representatives from lighting specialist Signify and Dutch smart horticulture company Priva.
Nico van Vliet, global value chain development lead at Bayer Crop Science, discusses the category positioning work his company is doing with tomatoes. Van Vliet’s presentation, which takes place on Day Three (4 November), looks at how Bayer is developing ‘flavour stories’ to increase tomato consumption worldwide.
