8 Italian companies head to Bangalore for ProPak India
19 September 2022
From 21 to 23 September an Ucima delegation will meet this increasingly strategic market
ProPak India 2022, the pre-eminent exhibition of process and packaging technologies for the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and cosmetics sectors, is set to begin in a few days' time at the International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) in Bangalore and will run from 21 to 23 September.
Ucima, in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency ITA, will take part in the event with an Italian Pavilion hosting a delegation of 8 companies: Alcos, Cavanna, Delfin, Finpac Sleeve, Ica, Omas Tecnosistemi, Sacmi Imola and Zanasi. It is a strategic exhibition in a region that offers enormous potential. International analysts are predicting that India will see an annual real GDP growth of more than 6%. Amid surging per capita income, a stronger focus on quality, a growing export propensity and a policy aimed at drastically reducing agricultural waste, India is renewing and expanding its processing and packaging technologies and is looking to Italy as a partner capable of offering the quality and guarantees it needs.
"Returning to ProPak India as a normal in-person event is a very important opportunity for our association," commented Riccardo Cavanna, chairman of Ucima. "The Asian market has always been a major focus for companies in our industry, and the Indian market in particular has seen remarkable growth in recent years. We are proud to be able to represent Italy once again on this international stage".
